The Dark Saber’s striking faceplates are made from an expensive, state-of-the-art material previously used in ultra-luxury sports watches. This material is made of hundreds of layers of high-strength carbon fiber subjected to ultra-high-pressure and high-temperature treatment. It combines the high-strength performance and ultra-lightweight characteristics of super-metal materials. The molding process generates a unique faceplate texture that epitomizes the merging of technology and aesthetics.

2DD + 8BA Drivers Scientific Restoration of Punchy Dynamics
The design goal of Dark Saber is to fully restore punchy dynamics and pure natural sound. To achieve this goal, the two dynamic drivers and eight balanced armatures on each side have been designed using scientific performance analysis to distribute balanced energy to the three frequency bands and thus ensure excellent performance across the full frequency range.
Two integrated 10mm dynamic drivers, four custom mid-range balanced armature drivers, and four Knowles high-range balanced armature drivers ensure a solid high-quality foundation for each band. MOONDROP’s rich experience in designing physical + circuit 2-way crossovers enables 10 drivers with different characteristics to perform optimally in their respective frequency bands and eliminates connection problems.
Horizontal Opposition for Extraordinary Bass Horizontally-Opposed Double Dynamic Driver Module
The new scientifically designed horizontally opposed double dynamic driver module further demonstrates the advantages of hybrid earphones in bass dynamics.
H.O.D.D.D.U.S. (Horizontally Opposed Dual Dynamic Drivers Unit System) uses dual 10mm dynamic drivers arranged closely and symmetrically using 3D-printed modular components. The components form a physical band-pass filter comprising two independent filtering structures and damping devices, thereby facilitating acoustic adjustment.
The symmetrical H.O.D.D.D.U.S. arrangement focuses the magnetic field at the magnetic gap of the two dynamic drivers, leveraging the same principle found in planar magnetic earphones. This not only improves energy conversion efficiency but also further reduces nonlinear distortion.
Full Frequency Phase Alignment
Creating Authentic Timbre, High Resolution, and Enhanced Soundstage Performance
Only by ensuring full-frequency phase consistency can we ensure the accurate articulation of each crossover frequency band, so that the headphones can deliver the correct sound field image and natural timbre articulation. Full-band phase consistency is the core requirement of MOONDROP’s R&D team for multi-driver in-ear headphones, and the Dark Saber is no exception.
Most high-end earphones emphasize resolution by changing the timbre of the mids and highs. Dark Saber, on the other hand, aims to achieve high resolution, enhanced soundstage, and authentic timbre by adjusting and optimizing the hardware without altering the timbre and imaging.
